The Artist's Eye

Monica Rezende is a flower artist whose practice is devoted to the study of natural beauty, time, and perception.

Born in Brazil and shaped by her years in London, Monica's work lives at the meeting point of intuition and intention. From Brazil comes the soul - instinctive, spiritual, deeply alive. From London came the refinement of her eye: an understanding of movement, restraint, and the freedom to let nature speak without being controlled.

Influenced by the English garden tradition - wild, gestural, and quietly poetic - Monica learned that beauty does not require symmetry or excess, but presence. Stems are allowed to breathe. Space is honored. Imperfection is not corrected; it is composed.

After more than thirty-five years working with flowers across continents, Monica founded The Conservatory of Natural Beauty - not as a school, gallery, or store, but as an observatory for the art of seeing. A place where flowers are treated as fine art, knowledge is passed with care, and beauty is grown slowly, with intention.

Today, Monica lives in Texas, north of Dallas, surrounded by family and the gentle rhythm of everyday life. When she is not in her studio, she is often walking through nearby woods, gathering branches, seeds, and textures from the land. Some of her most meaningful materials still come from her own backyard - or from her grandchildren's small hands, offering her flowers they have picked just for her.
